SECONDARY INDUSTRIES.

AUSTRALIA’S INTEREST

Per Press Association

AUCKLAND, .March 20.

“New Zealand's aim at building up her secondary industries is sound.” declared Mr C. R. Hall, secretary of the Chamber of Manufacturers of New South Wales, when he arrived at Auckland to-day en route to the New York World’s Fair as the Commonwealth Government official. “Among Australian manufacturers there is quite a lot of interest in the possibility of coining to New Zealand to establish manufacturing plant,” Mr Hall said. He added, however, that before an Australian ventured to set up plant here lie would naturally want to know the extent to which the movement of capital would be allowed.

“Australia is still pushing ahead with the development of industries. American industrialists arc continually coining Australia's way and a lot of British capital has boon invested there, too,” Mr Hall said.
