UPRISING IN PERU.
PRESIDENTIAL PALACE
BESIEGED
LIMA (Peru), Feb. 19. An uprising against the dictatorship of the President, General Benavides, was crushed to-day after fighting in which a number of persons were killed. General Benavides’s trusted friend, General Antonio Rodriguez (Minister of Public Safety), with detachments of National Police, of which he is head, stormed the Presidential Palace, which they held down for six hours.
Finally they were dislodged by the Palace Guards. General Rodriguez was killed.
