FEDERAL FORCES.
INCREASE CONTEMPLATED
Received February 21, 10.55 a.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 21. The Federal Government has decided to increase the permanent military forces by two thousand. The present permanent forces number about three thousand. ...... , The strength of the militia has reached 61,359 men. The Minister of External Affairs (Air W. M. Hughes) announced that enlistment will be continued until about 82,000 men are secured.
