GLEN OROUA, Feb. 20. Rongotea A and Glen Oroua A tennis teams met in a competition match at Glen Oroua on Saturday afternoon. A cold, gusty wind made playing conditions very unpleasant, and good tennis wars out of the porior to the visitors, winning by 9 sets perior o the visitors, winning by 9 sets and' 76 games to 7 sots and 74 games. Following are the detailed results, home players being mentioned first in each case:— ( Women's singles: .Mrs S. Barker beat Miss M Fraser. 6—l; Mrs T. R. Saunders lost to Miss E. Knox, I—6; Miss I. Parlane heat Miss J. Caverhill, 6—5; Miss J. Scott lost to Miss M. Slattery, 4 — 6. Men’s singles: R. Prebble beat It. Gooch, 6 — 4; L. FI. Ihle lost to K. Amies, 5 —6; S. G. Parlane lost to It. Aird, 0--6; N. Ililc beat F’ox, 6 —3. Women's doubles: Mesdames Barker and Saunders lost to Misses Fraser and Knox, 4—6; Misses Parlane and Scott beat Misses Caverhill and Slattery, 6 —4. Men’s doubles: Prebble and L. H. Ihle beat Gooch and Amies, 6 —o; Parlane and N. Ihle beat Aird and F’ox, 6—4. Mixed doubles: Prebble and Mrs Barker lost to Gooch and Miss Eraser, 4 — 6; L. FI. Ihle and Mrs Saunders beat Amies and Miss Knox, 6—4; Parlane and Miss Parlane beat Aird and Miss Caverhill, 6—2; N. Ihle and Miss Scott lost to F’ox and Miss Slattery. 4-6. The Glen Oroua Women’s Institute held their annual picnic at Mr B. Thomson's bush, Kopanc, on Saturday. Messrs R. and F. Lawlor are on a motor tour in the Auckland province. Mr and Mrs L. l’oupard and Miss ‘M. Poupard have returned home after a holiday spent in Napier.
