MAINLY FAIR. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Feb. 20. An anti-cvclone extends from eastern Australia on to the north Tasman Sea, but a series of westerly depressions is crossin" the south Tasman Sea and southern New Zealand. Forecast Moderate to strong northwest to westerly winds, reaching gale force at times in some exposed positions, and possibly turning temporarily to south-westerly. Weather: Mainly fair, but a few scattered showers possible in the high country. Temperatures moderate; seas rough. RIVER GAUGE. Noon. —lft. 3in.
