AJAX’S SPLENDID RECORD. FIFTEENTH CONSECUTIVE WIN. MELBOURNE, Feb. 18. Auric’s Slar, with 9.12, won his second Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield to-day. This is the only occasion that a horse has won the event twice. Ajax equalled Carbine’s record of 15 consecutive wins by brilliantly capturing tho St. George Stakes. Ho received a great ovation. Chief results are: BOND HANDICAP. One mile and three furlongs. BUZADONG, 9.3 (Sheari 1 RESPIRATOR. 8.1 (Bartle) 2 KINGDOM, 7.11 (Breasley) 3 Ten started, including Sir Regent. Half a head; three lengths. OAKLEIGH PLATE. Five furlongs and a-half. AURIE’S STAR, 9.12 (Dewhurst) ... 1 PAMELUS, 9.10 (Perry) 2 UNISIIAK, 7.9 (Morris) 3 Twelve started, including Stretto, Amiable and Disdain. Aurie s Star unwound a splendid run in the straight and won by three-quarters of a length from last year's winner Pamelus, with the South Australian Unishak a length and a-quarter away third. Disdain was fourth and then came Amiable and Stretto. Time, 1.5£. ST. GEORGE STAKES . Ono mile and one furlong. AJAX, 9.0 (Badger) 1 YOUNG IDEA 9.2 (Cox) 2 SPEAR CHIEF, 9.0 (McCarten) ... 3 Six started, including Manolive. Leading all the way and with only Young Idea a real challenger in the straight, Ajax won comfortably by a length and a-quarter. A similar distance separated second and third. Time, 1.51*. WARWICK FARM RESULTS. _ SYDNEY. Feb. 18. _ Racing at Warwick Farm to-day Waireka recorded a hollow victory by three lengths in tho Ingleburn Nursery Handicap, despite an outside barrier position, equalling the track record for 5£ furlongs of 1.7. The consistent horse Red Sails won the February Handicap, one mile and a-quar-ter, in which Golden Treasure was unplaced. Linldet was unplaced in the Min to Handicap, of ono mile.
