STREET INCIDENT.

STRUGGLE AVITH POLICE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Feb. 18. An ugly situation developed in Fergusson Street, in the city, last night as the result of an attempt By a constable to break up a fight between two young men, and for some time there was a danger of a general brawl with "tie public taking part. One of tho combatants escaped, and when a struggle took place between the constable and the other man part of the crowd took sides and entered into the fray. In response to an urgent call fifteen detectives and constables were despatched to the scene. In the Police Court, to-day, a young man was charged with fighting, using obscene language, and resisting the police, and a young woman was charged with disorderly behaviour and using indecent language. Both were remanded.
