ARRIVAL IN CITY.
SIR JULIEN CAHN’S XI
After playing at Wanganui, where they were joined by Sir Julien Cahn and his personal party, who flew direct from Auckland, the English touring cricket eleven which Sir Julien has brought to New Zealand arrived in Palmerston North at 4 P.m. yesterday. They were informally welcomed by members of the management committee of the Manawatu Cricket Association, these being Messrs A. M. Ongley (chairman), R. A. Brace (secretary), J. R. Hardie, H. Von Sturmer and It, S. Warwick. Accompanying Sir Julien Cahn is Lady Cahn and Mr and Mrs C. C. Goodwav, who will be in Palmerston North for the two-day match which commenced to-day against a team representing the Minor Cricket Associations. The team next proceeds to Christchurch, and leaves on March 20 for England, but Sir Julien and Lady Cahn will return via Canada. This is the fifth overseas cricket, tour sponsored l>v Sir Julien, who has previously taken teams to the Argentine, Bermuda, Canada, and Malay (including Ceylon en route!.
