FUTURE OF SPAIN
OUTSIDE INTERESTS. COMMON FRONT PLANNED. (United Press Association; —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received February 20, 12.35 p.m. ROME, Feb. 19. It is reported that Si§nor Mussolini, Herr Hitler, and General Franco will confer in a northern Italian city in order to establish a common front on the Spanish problem. A Burgos message says the Franco Government has requisitioned 230 ships under a decree authorising the employment of the Nationalist merchant fleet for public purposes and national defence. The agricultural services have taken over 30,000 deserted farms in Catalonia and are developing them with captured material. Hendaye reports that the normal Franco-Spanish railway service through Hendaye and Irun is being resumed on February 23.
