HOSPITAL BOARD'S ATTITUDE. “The whole question .of living out allowances for staff and staff living out will be considered on a national basis in connection with the proposed nursing staff award. J. Phillipps) to the meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board, to-day. on an offer liv a builder to erect flats as accommodation for nurses.
“If private enterprise is willing to provide flats and the members of the nursing staff who are authorised to live out themselves become the tenants, then the matter is not the concern of the hoard, hut at this juncture I think ir, would he unwise for the hoard t<V proceed any further or to give official recognition to any scheme for providing flats adjacent to the hospital,” said Air Phillipps.
