PRINCIPLE VIOLATED.
GENERAL FRANCO’S CHARGE Received February 18, 10.5 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 17. The British United Press Paris correspondent says that General Franco has sent a Note to the Foreign Office pointing out that the activities of the Republican leaders at the Paris Embassy have violated the principle of asylum. Seventy-nine Republican officers have been collectively fined £90,500 for receiving smuggled jewels and gold from Spain.
