GOLD WORTH TEN MILLIONS.

(From Our Own Correspondent). SYDNEY, Feb. 11. Gold production in Western Australia in 1938 was 1,167,792 fine ounces, valued at £10,364,023 in Australian currency. This was 167,145 ounces above tho yield for 1937, and 321,584 ounces more than in 1936. It was the best return since 1915.

Last year’s output was a record in value, due to the increase in tho price of gold towards the end of the year. The gold mining industry has steadily revived since 1929, when the yield fell to 377,176 ounces, tho lowest in the history of the State. Production last year was over three times larger.
