The reactions on the Stock Exchange noted last week have continued and prices have yielded in .most sections, though the turnover is small. Uncertainly over tho credit position and tho near approach of the Budget are blamed for tho halting rally, but a. less favourable view is also taken of tho political prospects. Brighter conditions prevailed in later dealings following Sir John Simon’s speech on confluence in Britain’s peace policy. Gilt-edged stocks fell back in orderly manner, with the selling absorbed at lower levels. Colonial stocks are fairly firm, and European bonds continue to reflect the more hopeful outlook.
