DE FACTO RECOGNITION.
ATTITUDE OF AMERICA
WASHINGTON, Feb. 16.
American officials, following the advice of Britain, have granted General Franco do facto recognition. They indicated that the United .States would not take action pending further clarification of the situation. A dispatch from Lima stated that Peru was the first American Government to recognise General Franco.
