KATHBELLA BRILLIANT.

GREAT TRACK TRIALS. ENGAGED AT WAIKATO. (By “Spectator.”) Kathleen, despite being topweight. in the Linley Hack Handicap at Te Rapa to-morrow, should keep the opopsition very busy. She is in great order, has been galloping in wonderful style at Hastings, and has made great improvement of late. Her runaway win at tho M&nawatu summer meeting will not bo forgotten. Red Witch’s Progress. Red Witch has been working we}J at Hastings, and will next race at Wanganui, where sho. will bo piloted by W. J. Mudford, who brought her home a winner at Ashhurst. She lias been improving with every race and did well at Wairoa. Bachelor King Fit. Bachelor King, who is running at To Rapa to-morrow, lias been kept up to bis work of late and promises to strip a fit, gelding for coming engagements, lie won at his last start, and having four successes ■ to bis credit this season the Lapidary gelding has proved himself a very capable sprinter, who should add to bis very attractive record before the season is much further advanced. For Taranaki Gup. Peerless, who ran second ,in the Manawatu Clip, but disappointed at Trcntham, will have her next race ill the Taranaki Cup. Back to Form. Benefited by bis previous races, Scotland, who is engaged at To Rapa to-morrow, registered a clear-cut win in the Rotorua Cup. He was giving tho leaders a bigstart half-way through the contest, but finished very attractively, and was going away from the field at the post. An Encouraging Showing. Our Jean’s initial appearance at the recent Ellorslio meeting revealed the fact that the Vaals filly would not be long ill saluting the judge. She was not far away in fifth position in the juvenile event, and her form was encouraging enough to anticipate a useful futuro for her. She is engaged at tho Waikato meeting to-morrow. Royevrus to Resume. Royevru? was treated to a brief respite after winning the Summer Cup at the Auckland mooting, and since his return to work he has shown that lie will again ho at the top of his form at the time ot asking. It is intended to race Royevrus on tho second day of the Waikato meeting, after which he will be taken t.o To Aroha to contest the chief event on that club’s programme. Plans For Taurangi. Tatirangi has marie a good recovery from the injury sho met with at Trcntham. She will have her next race at Bulls and then pay another visit to Trcntham. Record of Dungarvan. Dungarvan, who did not start as a five-year-old. has contested 49 races to date for 15 wins, 5 seconds, 7 thirds and £3613 10s in stakes. Progress of Tybalt. It is some time since Tybalt had a race, but no fault can be found with his condition, and he is also shaping well in his work. In the past Tybalt has more than paid his way, and there w r ill be plenty of races to suit him during the autumn meeting. Service as Hack. Willie Win is doing duty as a hack these days. Though he has been placed, Willie Win has failed to win a race so far this season. Since he was the runnerup to The Trump in tho Melbourne Cup two years ago, Willie Win has never returned to his best form, though he has looked well enough to win good races. Valerian is Useful. Valerian, who won the Juvenile Handicap at Hawera, won at his first two starts and then failed three times at Auckland. By Vaals, he is a two-year-old son of the Quin Abbey—Bell Crispin inare Abbey Day, the dam also of Bellbroney, Miss Te Kotira, and Killadar. Abbey Day was a full-sister to Gala Day and Boomerday, and Valerian, who has now had six outings, looks like being very useful. He is engaged at Te Rapa on Saturday.
