Mr Ralph Mountain, first officer of the Imperial Airways liner Cygnus, has been awarded the Royal Humane Society’s Stanhope Gold Medal for bravery for saving three passengers who were trapped in the crash at Brindisi in December, 1937, according to a cablegram.
