WEDDING.

CRAIG-PARKER—THURSTON. A marriage of Palmerston North interest was recently celebrated at the Methodist Church, Tauniarunui, the contracting parties being Mr J. CraigPai'ker, ionnerly of Palmerston North, and .Miss Veda Thurston, eldest daughter of Mr and .Airs K. H, Thurston, or Hikimutu, Taumarunui. The officiating minister was ftev. Cordon Peterson, and appropriate music was played by Air Stanley Wood. Entering the church with her father, the bride was a graceful picture in her gown of ivory silk cobweb lace over satin, out on princess lines; the shaped neckline and sleeves were edged with satin piping and faggoting. The train was appliqued with small sat in flowers. 'I he hand-embroidered-veii was worn over her face • as the bride entered the church. A lucky horseshoe was presented to her on leaving. She carried a sheaf of white gladioli and asparagus fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Dorothy Smith and Atiss Ngaire Thurston, who. were gowned alike in frocks of white stiffened net over blue taffeta, made; with full skirts ruched at tho hem;! fitting bodices with square neck- 1 lines and puff sleeves. Their headdresses were blue velvet plaited halos, tied at the hack, the ends falling to . the hem-line. They carried posies of j blue delphiniums. i

The best man was Air Gane Harhutt and the groomsman Air L. Thurston. A beautiful solo was rendered by .Miss Edna Harrison during the signing of the register. The church had been beautifully decorated with blue and white flowers and streamers by friends of the bride.

At the reception some seventy guests were received liv the bride’s mother, assisted by the bridegroom’s mother and grandmother. Very acceptable items were rendered by Messrs H. Stebbings, A. G. Ferris and S. H. AVood. Much interest was centred in the reading of a very large number of congratulatory telegrams received from Palmerston North and other parts of New Zealand, also two cablegrams from Australia. The beautiful array of gifts testified to the popularity of the bridal couple, and included a handsome crystal rose bowl from members of the Church of Christ. Palmerston North. Amid showers of confetti and good wishes, Mr and Afrs Craig-Parkcr left by car for Auckland, the bride travelling in a petunia-coloured frock and hat, with navy accessories. Their future homo will be in Taupo Road,, Taumarunui.
