VISITORS BATTING. Per Press Association. HAMILTON, Feb. 16. The opening pair, Dempster and Dyson, continuing the first innings of Sir Julien Calm’s XI against Waikato, took no risk with the bowling of Everest (left-arm medium) and Going (right-hand medium to fast), Dyson opening his account after 25 minutes of play when Dempster was ten. The Waikato fielding has shown an improvement on the Hawke Cup games and the first 20 runs took 40 minutes. The first bowling change was made at 44 when Clough replaced Everest, and off his third ball Going took a great left-handed catch in the slips when Dyson cut one very fine.
