VEHICLE OVERTURNS. OCCUPANT SUSTAINS INJURIES. Shortly after 8 o’clock this morning an accident occurred in the vicinity of tlie Papatawa railway crossing, as the result of which an occupant of a motor truck was admitted to the Rannevirke Hospital with injuries which are stated not to he ol a serious nature. The truck, driven by 1 Clarence Carson, a bridge foreman, ot | Dannevirke, also had as its passengeis Mr Walter G. Laidlaw, a winch driver, of Hastings, who was in the front seat, and Messrs Stanley A\ . McMillan, Charles E. Watson, .ami Jack Martin, a Maori, of Dannevirke, who were all accommodated in the hack of the vehicle. \ , , When the truck was about 100 yards north of the crossing a car approached in the opposite direction, driven by .Mi Axel Hcilht: ... a carpenter, of Palmerston North. In order to avoid a collision with the car, Mr Carson changed his course for the loft, hut apparently turned too far, the truck going moi a small hank and capsizing. All the occupants except Mr Martin escaped uninjured, being thrown oil to the grass. Imt ho was caught m the can of the vehicle, sustaining slight injuries to the shoulders and neck.
