ARREST ELUDED.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 23,
Police efforts to trace Raymond Patrick T.ietton, aged 32. who made a daring escape from tho police cells yesterday afternoon, have not proved successful.
Letton was arrested yesterday on a charge of unlawfully converting a motor-car. He apparently climbed a water-pipe running up the wall of the prison yard, broke through a wire netting screen, and dropped about six feet into a large yard.
