OBITUARY.
AIR W. BROOKE, ALP
(British Official Wireless). Received January 24, 1.5 p.m. RUGBY, Jan. 23.
The death has occurred of Air W. Brooke, Labour M.P. for Batley and Morley.
Air Willie Brooke had been Labour M.P. for Batley and Alorley since 1935. He had been a councillor of the City of Bradford since 1925. Mr Brooke was born on December 18, 1896, a son of the late Afr Fred Brooke, a wool sorter. He did not marry. He became an official of the Amalgamated Society of Dyers, a trade union, and from 1929 to 1931 lie was M.P. for Dumbartonshire.
