Received January 24, 1.45 p.m. ROME, Jan. 23. Marshal Balbo’s 11 Corriere Padano declares that Herr Hitler and Count Ciano are making formal announcements of the German and Italian claims on January 30. The statement cannot be confirmed, but it caused a sensation in diplomatic circles. 11 Corriere adds that Count Ciano is going to Berlin on January 30 to participate in the Nazis’ sixth anniversary ceremonies, at which . ilerr Hitler in a speech to the Reichstag will bring up the colonies claim and Count Ciano will declare that the Carman colonial claims and Italy s natural aspirations are linked.
