HEAVYWEIGHT HONOURS.
BOTH NEGROES FIT. Received January 23, 9.50 a.m. NEW YORK, Jan. 22. On Wednesday night two negroes will battle for the world heavyweight boxing title for the first time since 1913, when the Johnsons met in Paris. Curiously, there is again a similarity of names. Joe Louis is a pronounced favourite, bettors laying confident odds that ho will knock out John Henry Lewis, who has built himself up irom 12st 71b. , . Lewis has announced that he intends to box the first five rounds and then got in and fight. Louis plans to go all out Irom the start Both men are in tip-top condiIt is anticipated that 18,000 people will attend the Madison Square Garden, paying 100,000 dollars.
Louis holds the world heavyweight championship and Lewis the lightheavyweight title.
