TURNOVER OF WOOL.

SIX MONTHS SALES AND EXPORTS. INCREASES SHOWN. Sales of wool in New Zealand during the six months of the 1938-39 season to December 28 show an increase of nearly 10,000 bales on those for the corresponding period of the 1937-38 season, according to tiie returns compiled by Dalgety and Co., Ltd. The figures include the first six roster sales of each season. The offerings during the first six months of the current, season totalled 154,553 bales, as against 160,448 bales for the first half of the 1937-38 season, a decrease of 5890 bales, due to the lower limits at the six main sales imposed by the New Zealand Wool Committee. The actual sales for the six months to December 28 totalled 148,190 bales, as against 138,214 bales for tile corresponding period of last season, an increase of 9976 bales.

Shipments of wool lasi month were heavy, lofalling 85,550 bales, of which 79.145 bales were greasy wool and 6405 bales stipe.

Exports of wool during the six months of the current season to December 28 totalled 182,112 bales, compared with 138.832 bales for the corresponding period of last season, an increase of 43.280 bales.
