SOIL EROSION.
GOVERNMENT TAKING ACTION. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Jan. 21. The Minister of Internal Affairs (Hon. AV. E. Parry), replying to a deputation, said there would be no half-measures in dealing with the problem of soil erosion. The damage done by erosion was colossal, but the Government was not going to dwell upon tlie past. Pending legislation bad already been announced, and the sooner it was on the Statute Book the better. The soil must be saved, and Mr Parry asked for the co-operation of local bodies in the work to prevent erosion.
