CRICKET
HOLIDAY MATCHES. HAWKE’S BAY VISITORS. As a holiday attraction, three representative cricket matches were played at the Sportsground to-day and one at the Terrace End Park. Those at the Sportsground were: Manawatu second eleven v. Eeilding, for the Goldfinch and Cousins Cup; Manawatu third eleven v. Horowhenua on No. 3 wicket: and a Manawatu senior B eleven v. South Hawke’s Bay. At Terrace End the Manawatu junior team met Wanganui juniors. There was perfect weather and in all cases the wickets were in good order. Manawatu won the toss in three out of the four matches.
