“BEGINNING OF END.”
LORD STRABOLGI’S VIEW. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. Jan. 23. The breakdown of the German economic system resulting from the removal of Dr. H. G. H. Schacht from the Presidency of the Reichsbank is anticipated by Lord Stnabolgi, who fears the Nazi Government will then plunge Germany into international strife. “It is a verv important event in Germany,” said 'Lord Strabolgi. speaking of Dr. Schacht’s dismissal. “Generally recognised as one of the leading bankers in the world, he is a man of very sound knowledge, and he ha 6 managed to keep the crazy economic structure of Germany intact so far. His going means that the extremists in power since the invasion of Austria are now in power economically. I think it is the beginning of the end.”
