MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

Charged with the theft of a pearl necklace valued at £265 belonging to a titled lady, a young woman (appeared in the Magistrate’s Court before" Mr F. H. Levien, S.M. Detective-Ser-geant McHugh obtained a remand till Monday. “I am instructed that she has a complete answer to this charge,” said counsel. “Have the pearls been recovered?” asked the Magistrate. “No, sir, they were destroyed—they were burned,” answered DetectiveSergeant McHugh.
