VAST FIELDS IN CHINA.
JAPANESE MINISTER’S CLAIM. Received January 21, 2 p.m. TOKJO, Jan. 20. The Foreign Minister (Mr Arita), continuing his speech to the Diet, added : Vast fields are left open in China, in which the rights and interests of the other countries and the commercial and other peaceful enterprises of their nationals are not affected and are even welcomed. Mr \rita claimed that Japan had always striven for the removal of trade harriers, and described the foreign Powers’ complaints or interference with their rights in China as unavoidable owing to military necessities.
