ATLANTIC STORM.
VESSELS DISABLED
(Independent Cable Service). Received January 21, 12.50 p.m. NEW YORK, Jan. 20.
One ship was broken in two, another lost its propeller, and several liners ■were badly battered by terrific midwinter storms in the Atlantic. The crew of 37 were miraculously rescued from the oiltanker Jaguar, which broke in two in mid-Atlantic so suddenly that she was unable to flash a distress signal. The small freighter Duala. which was apparently nearby, wirelessed that she had picked up seven men from the forecastle and thirty from the aftersection, which remained floating despite the tremendous seas. A coastguard cutter reached the freighter Black Condor ofi Novia Scotia, which was helpless without her propellers.
