CHRISTMAS MARKETS.

YESTERDAY’S PRICES. The Dominion Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, reports receiving a fair yarding of pigs at its sale yesterday, prices remaining firm on late rates. Poultry was in exceptionally heavy supply, but a keen demand prevailed and a total clearance was made at satisfactory prices. Emit and produce also were in heavy supply. Prices:— Pigs.—Wcaners, from IPr; to '2ls; slips, from 22s to 265; stores, from 29s to 365; heavy porkers, from 45s to 525; light, from 37s 6d to 425. Poultry.—Heavy hens, from 8s to 10s per pair; best White Leghorn hens, from 5s to 6s per pair; light hens, from 4s to 5s per pair; heavy cockerels, from 6s 6d to 8s per pair; lighter, from 2s to 5s per pair; ducks, from Eg to 7s per pair; geese, from 8s to 12s per pair; turkey gobblers, from 14s to 25s each; turkey' honk, front 10s to 15s each; roosters, front 4s to 5s per pair.
