(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI. Dec. 21. Mrs Daniel and Mrs McGill have returned to Wellington. Members -of the Municipal Croquet Club held an enjoyable day on Saturday, the afternoon taking the form of a Christmas party. Competitions were won' by Mrs F. Southgate and Mrs Weenink. At the dance and euchre to raise funds for the Pakeha King Mr and Miss Kerrigan won the foxtrot competition, Mr Moss and Miss Wallace the spot waltz, and Mr Chittick and Mrs Cole the onestep while the first euchre prizes were won’ by Mrs Beauchamp and Mr Fryer (Wellington) and the second prizes by Mrs Humphries and Mr P. Taipua. , At a general meeting of the Workers Union, the following were elected for the ensuing year.:—Chairman, Mr W Henwood; deputy-chairman, Mr E. Allmand, committee, Messrs W. A Guldens, G. Gray, E. Allmand, A. Cootes, W. Bryan, T Hohipuha; secretary, Mr A. Cook. It is understood that arrangements are now being made for . the letting of the Slate houses at Otaki, all of which should be out of the contractor’s hands in the course of three or four weeks - tune.
