A RECIPE.
APPLE STUFFING. Take 6 tart apples, -J teaspoonful salt, Jib prundk, one cupful breadcrumbs, 2oz castor sugar, J teaspoonful crushed herbs.
Wash the prunes, cover with cold water, and soak overnight. Turn the prunes and water into a saucepan, cover, and simmer till soft. Add castor sugar, simmer five minutes longer, then pour into a dish. When cool, stone and quarter the prunes. Peel, quarter, and core the apples, stew till nearly done, stir in the prunes and the remainer §f the ingredients, and use for stuffing goose or duck.
