WEDDING.

FAIRBAIRN—McCOLL. A beautiful gown of ivory and silver lame cloque was worn by Yulien Elsie Biyth, younger daughter of Mrs iucCoil, ot Broadway, and tlio late Mr Duncan McUoll, lor lier wedding to James Cuthuert. younger sou ot Mr and Mrs I<. E. hairbairn, of ittilson’s Line, which took place at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Droadway, early yesterday evening. The ceremony was performed by Rev. M. a. McDowell and the organist was Mr A. Treguitiia. 'the church was prettily decorated - with clusters of mauve and green hydrangeas, white double Shasta daisies and bachelor’s buttons, and blue sweet peas and larkspurs with trails of asparagus fern and large white hows. The bride was escorted by her uncle. Mr R. H. Wood. Her frock was designed on long graceful lines, the skirt ending in a train, 'J.be long sleeves had flared cuffs edged with net and the V neck was also finished with net. A row of self-coloured buttons extended almost the full length, of the front of the frock. The bridal veil in a beautiful lace design of daffodils and wreaths was worn with a top-knot of rose petals toning with her. sheaf of lilium regales. Silver shoes were the finishing touch to. a picturesque and unusual ensemble.

Miss Rita. Byers attended the bride and wore ivory georgette over taffeta made in redingote style with a V 'neckarid long full sleeves. Her gown was finished with lattice cut-work down the front and she carried a sheaf of blue delphiniums and wore a fine spray of the same flowers in her hair. Maisio Ann Collins, of Greymouth (niece of the bride), was a flower girl in a dainty Kate Greenaway frock of ivory georgette over taffeta with puff sleeves and frilled edging to the collar. Lattice cutwork finished the front and she wore a hair trail and wristlets of blue delphiniums, a ball of flowers being suspended from one wristlet by blue ribbon. Mr Duncan McColl, brother of the bride, was best man.

Luck horseshoes were presented at the church door by Michael Collins, nephew of the bride, and Eileen Bailey, niece of the bridegroom. A reception was later held at the P.DC. tearooms where the tables were charmingly decorated with blue sweet peas and hydrangeas. Mrs McColl, who received the guests, wore a smart ensemble of black silk Ottoman, having a white floral design on the bodice, and a black coatee. Her hat was of black straw and she wore a shoulder spray of pink carnations. The bridegroom's mother was in a navy frock with a floral pattern, a navy wool lacc redingote, and navy straw hat trimmed with flowers. Her shoulder spray was of blue love-in-tlie-mist and pink roses. Mrs D. A. Collins, of Greymouth (sister of the bride), wore a brown taffeta ensemble patterned with bunches of autumn-tinted flowers,, a shoulder spray of nasturtiums and pansies to tone, and a cream straw hat with a brown veil and posy of autumn-tinted flowers. Mrs Cyril Bailey, a sister of the bridegroom, wore Hungarian navy crepe-de-chine with floral stripes of pink and blue, and a navy hat trimmed with pink and blue. Mr G. Fairbairn, of Wellington (uncle of the bridegroom), wasV the toastmaster and proposed the health of the bride and groom. When the bride left for the honeymoon she wore a smart little navy marocain frock patterned with tiny white and yellow flowers, having a pleated skirt and navy ribbon threaded through .the front of the...bodice. Her small ‘b rimless hat was of navy felt trimmed with broad navy ribbon tied in a bow and having an eye-veil. She wore a navy edge-to-edge coat and a beautiful fur'stole, the latter lieing the gift of the bridegroom. Navy gloves, embroidered with tiny flowers, and navy shoes and bag completed her ensemble. Mr and Mrs J. C. Fairbairn will make their future home at Christchurch. j
