OBITUARY.
v LADY FENWICK;
The death occurred yesterday at IXmedin of Lady Fenwick, widow or Sir George Fenwick, who for many years directed the activities of the Otago Daily Times. She was born at sea 86 years ago. Her parents, Mr and Mrs George Proudfoot, left England for Victoria in the Strathfieldse and it was on this vessel that Lady Fenwick was born. . . Lady Fenwick lived in Victoria tor a considerable time and when the geld rush broke out in Otago, her brother, David Proudfoot, went to Dunedin and later sent for his mother and sister, the father having died in the meantime. Miss Proudfoot. subsequently married Sir George Fenwick and resided in Dunedin ever since. She is survived by a son, Dr George Fenwick Auckland, and four daughters, Mrs Wilfred White, of South _ Canterbury, Mrs Percival Janies, wife of Canon James, Halifax, England, Mrs Edgar Hazlett, of Dunedin’, and ’ Miss Marian F'enwick, of Dunedin.
