PERSONAL
The Governor-General, Lord Galway, and Lady Galway made their first official visit to Hokitika yesterday. To-day His Excellency visited the South Westland glaciers Mr E. P. Jackson, of Auckland, is visiting Palmerston North on account of the illness of his father, Mr F. Jackson.
Rev. Soloman Katz, Rabbi of Wellington, will leave for Auckland on Monday en route for Sydney, whence he will sail for Paris and London. He will return via 'the United states of America. He will meet Mrs Katz and liis eldest son in Paris, and his youngest son in New York. He will be away four months. The death has occurred in Hamilton of Mr Edward Walders, aged 54. Mr Walders, who was born in Southland and took up engineering, was a wellknown Rugby footballer in his youth and- represented Southland. He was in business in the engineering trade in Palmerston North, Hamilton and Morrinsville. Mr Walders is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter.
