BAINESSE SCHOOL
The epidemic of measles is slowly dying out of. the Bainesse district. It has seriously affected the school attendance this term.-
On Tuesday, afternoon the annual Calf Club day was held at the Bainesse School, and was greatly enjoyed by tile children and the many visitors who attended. The children led the calves round a miniature show ring, erected by some of the members of the School Committee. Seventeen calves were presented and Mr Smith, of Bunnythorpe, the judge, commented on the very fine typo of animal shown, and urged, the winners to enter their calves for the championships to he held at Feilding in February. During afternoon tea, served by the ladies in the school it was announced that an anonymous donor was presenting a silver cup for competition among the Bainesse, children next year. The school children and teachers are to te congratulated on the very fine display of handwork at the recent show. The work was so varied and well finished that the bay was favourably commented on by all visitors.
