The friends of Miss Edith Rose will Ire pleased to learn that she has now left hospital and is progressing favourably. Miss. Nora lieattie, of Eeilding, is staying with Mr and Mrs J. I’. Buchanan, of Massey College. Mrs S. J. Coulter, of Lower Hutt, who has been visiting Mrs Vincent Gerard, Bishop’s Court, Napier, has returned to Palmerston North, where she will stay the week-end with her lamily before returning to Wellington. Hon. M. Briggs, M.L.C., and Miss Briggs have been visiting Rotorua. They then went on to Auckland where they \vere met by Mrs Briggs, with whom they have now returned to • Palmerston North. Mr and Mrs J. A. Wilkinson. of Elmira Avenue, and J>r R. J. T. Bell and Mrs Bell, of Dunedin, have returned from a holiday spent at Taurangn and Rc.torua.

Mrs R. Llewellyn, of Melbourne, will arrive next week to spend a holiday in New Zealand and will visit her sister, Mrs G. McCaskil] (Miss Gwen Gibbs), of Broadway. She will be joined later by her husband. Miss G. Grant, of Hastings, is staying with her mother in Palmerston North, having just returned from visiting England and the Continent.

One of the oldest residents of the King Country, Mrs Dina McGerven Oribb, died at her son’s residence, Manunui, at the age of 91 years. She was born at Moutoa, Foxton, and with her husband went to Otorohanga over 50 years ago. After the death of her husband, Mr John Oribb, some 30 years ago, Mrs Cribb removed with her family to Manunui, where she has resided since. In the early days of the district, Mrs Cribb was a great social worker and gave valuable assistance during pioneering days at Otorohanga and Taum'arunui.
