LORD STANLEY’S MESSAGE
ROUND THE WORLD. (British Official Wireless.) Received August 27, 10.30 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 26. The most ambitious cable transmission ever undertaken was initiated by Lord Stanley (Dominions Secretary) at the Canadian National Exhibition. His message round the world was returned to him with five replies within four minutes of its despatch. The message travelled 51,165 miles, of which 44,277 were by cablo and 6888 by land line.
