CORNER OF A FISHING VlLLAGE. —Fishing villages are scattered all along the coast of Norway where over 100,000 people are engaged in the cod and herring fisheries. The industry of these fishermen has made fish the chief export of Norway. Most of the fish are split open, salted and spread out on the rocks to dry, after which they are packed ready for export. The heads are dried separately and pulverised for phosphates.
