The Feilding Borough Council to date has received donations towards the Chinese Refugee Children’s Fund amounting to £33 12s. Donations to the fund for Spanish children amount to £ll 3s 6<l. Entrants for the Feilding Amateur Cycling Club’s 25-mile open road race are reminded that entries close with the secretary on Monday, August 29. Mr G. H. Jarrett, the newly-appoint-ed supervising meat inspector at the
Feilding freezing works, has commenced his new duties. Mr J. A. Archer, who for several years has been engaged at the works as a meat inspector, has been transferred to Longburn, while Mr N. Ball has reecived notice of his transfer to the Whakatu freezing works, Hastings. The annual railway returns presented to Parliament show that in outward traffic in 6heep and pigs the Feilding station tops the list for New Zealand with a. total of 322,638. Second on the list is Woodville, with a total of 204.787, while "Waipukurau comes third with a total of 175,017.
