An explosion, folloVed by five, badly dajnaged the yacht Kittywake, a converted auxiliary lifeboat, while she was lying in the basin at Falmouth Customs quay, and the navigating master, Mr Thomas Sylvester, of Chelsea, London, received bruises and cuts.
