Hansel (secretary) was welcomed back, after her recent trip to Honolulu, at yesterday’s meeting of the Manawatu Women’s Club.

Mrs C. L. Turnbull, of Fitzherbert Avenue, is paying a brief visit to Wellington.

Mrs T. S. Raikes, of Palmerston North, is visiting Auckland. Miss N. Williamson, of the Training College, Wellington, is spending the vacation with her parents, Mr and. Mrs D. Williamson, Colyton. ' Miss Phyllis Hastings, of Linwood. Christchurch, is spending the school holidays with her parents. Mr and Mrs T. A. Hastings, of Heretaunga Street, Palmerston North. Mrs G. I. McGregor, of Fcatherston Street, Mrs R. E. Gaisford and Miss P. Gaisford, of Linton Street, have been spending a' holiday at Paraparaumu Beach, and will return to Palmerston North next week.

Miss Mary Mullan, M.A., of Westport, member of the executive of the University Students' Association, is the guest of Mr and Mrs G. H. Lusk, Elmira Avenue, Palmerston North. Captain and Mrs Morley. the officers in charge of the Levin Corps of the Salvation Army, have received notico of their transfer to New Brighton. ProCaptain and Mrs Rundle, will be the new officers for Levin.

Misses Beth Pnrkes, Feilding, and Margaret Mules, Woodville, are spending the week-end as the guests of Mr and Mrs John Reynolds, of Stanley Avenue, Palmerston North. Miss M. Macleod has returned home from the Wanganui College and will spend the holidays with her parents, Mr and Mrs M. A. Macleod, Colyton.

Mrs H. R. Denize, who is leaving shortly to reside in Dunedin, was farewelled at yesterday’s meeting of the Manawatu Women’s Club, Mrs A. E. Mansford conveying the good wishes of the members.

Miss Beth Parkes, of Feilding and Palmerston North, gained membership of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing at the examinations conducted in Wellington, recently, by Miss Phyllis Haylor, of London. Visitors welcomed at yesterday’s meeting of the Manawatu Women’s Club were Mesdames, J. P. Cottier (Takn.ka), W. Corko (Longburn), if. Jardine, I. K. Rickard. C. Findlay, Misses J. Paton, L. Buick and L. Prain.

Mr and Mrs G. P. Manic sailed for London from Auckland on Thursday, accompanied by their family. Mr Maule expects to be away from New Zealand for about IS months, being engaged in business interests.

Tlie secretary of the Manawatu Women’s Club was asked, at yesterday’s meeting, to write letters of sympathy to Miss V. Flood, who is indisposed, and to Mrs J. Barsnnti whose mother, Mrs G. E. Spiuley, is ill.
