DAIRY ACCOUNT.
PItOBABLE SURPLUS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 26. When the statement attributed to Mr W. Goodfellow, at Hamilton, that there would be £1,000,000 in the Dairy Account after allowing for the recent distribution was referred to Hon. W. Nash this morning, he said the present surplus was less than a quarter of that. Mr Goodfellow’s figures were not correct. The average realisation for butter sales to date equalled 117 s 6d a cwt. and for cheese 68s Id a cwt. The final figures would be published as soon as they came to hand. X
