DULL WITH RAIN. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 27. Tlio anti-cyclone which lias been slowly crossing the Dominion is now centred near the Chatham Islands and is still very intense. A rather shallow cyclonic depression is located north-west of Cape Maria van Diemen and pressure is low over Eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds, east to north-east moderate to fresh mostly but strong in exposed positions. Weather: Dull and misty with rain in the eastern areas and gradually becoming more widespread. Temperatures, moderate.; seas, rather rough on the East Coast, elsewhere moderate with a considerable swell. RIVER GAUGE. Noon. —3 ft.
