POSITION IN MANAWATU.
FACTORIES NOT AFFECTED. Owing to the fact that practically no saranac boxes are used in the Manawatu district, a “Standard” reporter was informed, the Government’s decision has little effect on the Manawatu factories. The New' Zealand Farmers’ Dairy Union, Kairanga, Awahuri, Cheltenham and Rongotea companies, among others, are using the sub-standard box. It was stated that .the saranac box was mostly used by dairy companies operating some distance from the box factories, in order to reduce freight charges.
