FOXTON RACING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Aug. 25. The annual meeting of the Foxton Racing Club was hold on Wednesday night and was presided over by Mr W. E. Barber (president). The president said that it gave the stewards particular pleasure to see so many present. Motions of sympathy were accorded the relatives of the late Messrs 0. H. Symons, C. T. Easton and W. McPhail. The report and balance-sheet (previously published) were adopted. Commenting on the balance-sheet, the president said that it was pleasing to find the club in such a good state. It was probable that at an early date the club would give consideration to an extension of the accommodation at the course. The stewards were considering the point. In continuation of its policy, further tree planting had been carried out during the year, the club being mindful of the fact that when it had fallen on evil times it had been saved from financial embarrassment by being able to sell certain trees. In answer to Mr W. Bovvo, the president said that £2536 5s lOd hail been paid in taxation during the year. The amount was almost equivalent to the amount in stakes. Mr Perrcau siiggesled further free planting could still he carried out. The parking area could be improved by planting. The president said that 2013 trees had been planted during the year. Mr Perrcau congratulated the club on its programme and the improvements effected. Mr G. V. Fraser was re-elected auditor. All the other offices were' filled without election. Mr IT. McMillan was elected a life member. In moving the motion, the president referred to the long service rendered the club by Mr McMillan as clerk of the scales. Mr D. Christie commented on the unsatisfactory position with regard to the jockeys’ board.—Noted for attention. Air Perrcau suggested the holding of a racing club ball. Tlie president paid a tribute to the work of Mr K. Christensen in carrying out the tree planting. It was decided to place on record Mr Christensen’s services. At (he conclusion of the meeting the president paid a tribute fo the work of the stewards. ,
