’ Per Press Association-. AUCKLAND, Aug. 24. Conditions were perfect for the opening of the North Island ski-ing championships at National Park to-dav, when the slalom races were contested. The results were:— Men’s slalom.—lt. S. Duncan, 100 points, 1; I. F. Major, 99.45 points, 2; J. C. McComisli, 92.53 points, 3'. Open slalom.—A. Hatchman (Kosciusko Alpine Club), Imin. 19sec, 1; K. Purcell (Sdney Ski Club), lmin 21 2-ssec, 2; G. It. Dixon (Aorangi Ski Club), lmin 23 2-ssec, 3.
