■Mrs Allan Bayliss, of Russell Street, has as .her guests for the school vacation, Miss Edith Baker, of Gisborne, and Miss N. Bagnall, of Wellington. Mr and Mrs R. T. Tidswell, of Palmerston North, were recent callers at New Zealand House, London. Miss M. Oram, daughter of Mr and Mrs M. H. Oram, of Featherston Street, Palmerston , North, is home from Canterbury College for the holidays. Mrs H. Palmer, of Lombard Street, who has been the guest of Mr and Mrs A. W. Anion, of Bulls, has returned to Palmerston North.

Members of the Palmerston North Hospital Women’s Auxiliary expressed gratification, at yesterday’s meeting, on hearing that Mrs J. Saunders, of Featherston Street, lia-s recovered from her recent illness sufficiently to leave on a holiday. Miss Helen Luke, daughter of Mr and Mrs C. R. Luke, Palmerston North, is spending a holiday at Mt. Cook and her sister, Miss Allison

Lake, is the guest of Mr and Mrs Baker, at Cashmere Hills, Christchurch, for the Otago University vacation. At yesterday’s meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Women’s Auxiliary the- secretary (Mrs S. J. Parkes) was asked to write a letter of sympathy to Mrs J. Barsanti, whose mother is at present in hospital. M is-ses M. Murphy and M. N. Wilson and Mrs R.
