NO STARTING PRICE BETTING, SYDNEY. Aug. 24. Moving the second reading of the Gaming and Betting Amendment Bill in the Legislative Asemblv aiming at the suppression of off-the-course—-otherwise starting-price—betting, the Chief Secretary (Mr Gollan) estimated that the turnover from these forms of illegal wagering amounted in round figures to £40,000,000 in New South Wales.
